Clinics in Japan
Sunday, 20 June 2010 19:17
During the month of May weekly clinics were held in Tokyo to introduce korfball to students of elementary/primary schools who were aged from 6 to 12 years old.
The clinics were conducted by the coaches of the Korfball Club Tokyo and were led by Tobi who had recently visited China and taken part in IKF coaching clinics held at the IKF Asia Oceania Championship.
Thirty young korfballers participated enthusiastically each week and grew to love their new sport. The students had great fun, but still developed a basic knowledge of Korfball rules, different tactics and have even participated successfully in a Korfball Quiz.
Korfball Club Tokyo is planning further promotional activities again in the near future in an attempt to further promote the sport of korfball. The ultimate aim is to build a strong national program and also enable Japan to participate internationally in the global korfball community.
