Pools for the IKF European Championship 2010 announced

At the International Korfball Association’s Congress held in Deinze (BEL) on Saturday 14 November 2009 the IKF Council announced the pools for the opening round of the IKF European Championship, scheduled to take place in the Netherlands from 22 – 31 October 2010.

Mission Southern Africa

Under the expert guidance of international korfball missionary Daniel de Rudder, korfball in Southern Africa has taken another step forward.

In September, along with fellow Belgian Dirk van Heertum, and with financial and logistical support from the Flemish Government, Daniel paid another visit to Africa, where korfball continues to grow.

The latest visit comprised IKF introductory referee and coaching courses in Zomba, Malawi, as well as level one and two referee and coaching courses in Pretoria, South Africa, the latter provided in conjunction with the South Africa Korfball Federation (SAKF) during its academy for national U16 and U19 teams.

Mr Frank de Boer has died in a bike accident

The International Korfball Federation is very sad to announce the untimely and fully unexpected death of Mr Frank de Boer, who passed away on Sunday evening 25 October 2009 in Antwerp (BEL) after a very tragic bike accident. He was underway by bike from the clubhouse of his club, Meeuwen K.V., to his home. He was only 58 years of age.
