The last day matches were exciting. Close, a lot of tension, good korfball and the best team team became the winner of the Europa Shield 2010.

Daniël de Rudder, Jorge Alves and Norbert Dupontseel completed the final stage of the Flemish Government project “Promoting and developing Korfball in Southern Africa 09” by visiting Mozambique and two regions in South Africa, Sedibeng and Ndlambe, in the period from 22 November till 10 December 09.
The tour began in Maputo, capital of Mozambique where the instructors conducted an IKF introductory coach and referee course held at The Potuguese School of Maputo.
The 18 participants were all teachers and coaches from 4 local schools, the Portuguese School, The International School, the American School and l’ Ecole Francaise and who were all very enthusiastic about our sport throughout the one week course.

Several years ago Mr Ton van der Weerd, a teacher from the Netherlands pioneered the development of korfball in Finland.
His school in Rhenen worked together on this project with a primary school in the city of Turku in Finland. The teachers came to Holland on many occasions and were educated in the game of korfball. They were instructed by Mr. van der Weerd together with the help of the IKF through various training programs.
About 500 children in primary schools, 150 students in universities and 50 teachers have been trained in the last few years. Finland is very interested in going further with Korfball and the sport has been featured twice on television and three newspapers have written big articles about the sport in recent times.
